“As an independent artist I wanted to release the songs I was performing in
concert because fans (and I’m always flattered and amazed by having fans)
were wanting to buy an album! So, I went in to the studio with an armful of
songs, loads of enthusiasm, a band who knew the material well (after all,
we’d been out there touring in concert for more than a year with these
songs) and a Plan. The Plan was to record something new and breathtaking.
Something to make you relax, chill out and not feel intimidated by what you
are hearing. I wanted the album to be something gentle in a tough world, yet
strong in its performance and delivery. The songs capture well the time they
were recorded. Early summer, long happy days and late nights in the studio!"
"One of the songs is called “In Your Eyes” so that’s what I decided to
call the album and I released it with 6 consecutive sell-out nights in
concert in central London. The reviews were excellent and as always the
audiences were fantastic! I love the audiences, and I love having fans who
write and say they like my music too. That’s what makes it all worthwhile."
